Ask before you arrange a chef.
Some Airbnbs and vacation rentals in Manuel Antonio do not allow outside chefs or vendors. The property’s rule matters even when a service is available in the area. Check with the host or manager before planning an in-villa meal.
Manuel Antonio Table asks where you are staying and whether outside chef permission has been confirmed. You can answer yes, not sure or no. We use that information to discuss the service that fits the property.
What to ask your host
Explain the plan specifically: an independent private chef would come into the property, use the kitchen, prepare and serve a meal, then handle kitchen cleanup. Ask whether that is permitted, whether advance approval is required and whether any vendor conditions apply.
- Are outside chefs allowed to use the kitchen?
- Does the host require the chef’s details or advance permission?
- Are there access, parking, gate or vendor check-in rules?
- Are there limits on guest count, events or dining arrangements?
- If on-site cooking is restricted, are meal deliveries permitted?
Save the host’s response and share the relevant details while planning. Permission for a food drop-off should not be assumed to cover a chef entering and working in the kitchen.
If the answer is “not sure”
Tell us the property’s name and which rule needs clarifying. We can help you identify the questions to ask. The host or manager remains the authority for that accommodation’s permission.
We are not publishing a list of approved or restricted properties because those details need to be verified and kept current. A property name alone should not be treated as proof of permission.
If outside chefs are not allowed
Table Delivery may be a useful alternative. The meal is prepared off-site, and delivery is arranged without an in-villa cooking service.
Check the property’s delivery rules, access instructions and who can receive the meal. Some properties restrict vendors at the gate or require a handoff outside the grounds. These details need to be agreed before booking.
Kitchen permission is only part of the plan
Once chef access is permitted, confirm whether the kitchen and dining setup fit your menu and guest count. Cooking equipment, refrigeration, plates, serving items and seating can be especially important for a group of ten or more.
Tell us about equipment gaps before the meal day. Do not assume extra items or staff are included in a standard chef service fee.
Already booked accommodation?
You can plan a meal without changing where you stay. The first step is simply to establish which service your property allows, then choose between an in-villa chef and delivery.
